Baubles made from child's artwork

This is a great idea from the fabulous Red Ted Art - turn your child's paintings, drawings or crayon scribbles into baubles! This craft is for adults or older children who can use scissors and glue.

I decided to use one of my son's paintings (there are only so many that you can put on the fridge door or wall!). I painted it with sparkle Mod Podge and let it dry - but this step is optional. You can't see the sparkles in the photos unfortunately, but it looks pretty good!

Then I cut out as many circles as I could - I got 9 that were 2 3/4" diameter. I used a cookie cutter as a template. Then I folded each circle in half, with the artwork on the inside of the fold.

Then I glued the backs of the semi-circles together. Before joining the last two, I taped some looped thread onto the middle of the bauble. Then I glued the last two semicircles together.

These make great decorations - and are a wonderful contribution from a young child who may not fully understand yet! These baubles can also be folded flat and mailed with Christmas cards - very useful for little token gifts to overseas family.
